3rd, 4th and 5th May 2008
The Whippets participated in the 2008 BUST Tournament at Bracknell this past weekend, coming in third. They played in the top Gold league including Brackenll Stingers, Telford Rockets, Oxford Stars and the Whippets. All games were very competitive. Nathan Lester ended our goal drought scoring in the game against the Bracknell Stingers, On Monday we continued with a couple of goals against Oxford and in the post tournament round against the Bracknell Swarm. Unfortunately the arrangement for a 3 way play off was rejected on a technicality by EIHA on Sunday 11th May. This was despite considerable support for the Whippets having the opportunity to playoff because the league positions had been determined on unearned points. However in 08/09 the U16s fully intend to be back in the running!"
