U10s played their first 'Home' match at Oxford on Saturday, 29 September. Due to NHL commitments, Haringey were able to send only 3 players to the cross ice involving 3 teams: Oxford/Haringey, Cardiff and Solent. The Oxford Haringey team fielded 8 skaters and a goalie, playing competitive games throughout. Rio, Solomon and Vinnie skated with gusto and chalked up several goals and assists.  We are looking forward to our first U10 full ice match at Invicta on Dec 1 at 1230pm.  We should be able to field all 6 of our U10s plus one or two more who will be registered by that time.

The fledgling U10 squad played in their first competition on Sunday, Sept. 9. Bracknell hosted a U10 X-ice competition icing two teams themselves, Guilford and the Haringey/Oxford squad. The teams played round robin with two games going simultaneously and fun drills to do in the middle ice section. The teams played for a continuous 2 hours with shift changes being whistled in every 1min 30 secs. Haringey players Solomon Smith, Robin Grathwohl, Jazmin Jones and Rio Grinnel-Park played hard, had fun and were thoroughly exhausted by the last whistle. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed.  HJIHC  currently has 7 registered U10 players. As this is not enough to  register our own team, we have joined forces with Oxford this season to make a squad of about 15 players. The team has two more X-ice competitions this month and will then move on to full ice challenge matches. Oxford has been able to secure regular ice for 'home' games and we will also travel to other rinks for away fixtures. The team is always looking for new players and will seek to take players who complete the beginner hockey course offered on Fridays, 5:45 to 6:45pm.
